Interest in Halloween is growing. More people are expected to participate. Spending on Halloween costumes, decorations, crafts, accessories and jewelry may reach record levels.

There’s been a renewed interest in witch costumes. Disney costumes are a perennial favorite. And of course, costumes based on people’s favorite movies and TV shows.

People are decorating their homes and yards earlier than ever for Halloween. They’re putting mummies, ghosts. and human and animal skeletons in their yards. Some are quite lifelike.

Trick Or Treat happens just about everywhere on Halloween, October 31, 2022. In East Washington, it happens on Saturday, the 29th. In Morris Township/Prosperity, trick or treat will happen on Saturday, October 30.

Trick or treat hours vary by community. Hours start as early as 5:00 PM. Some community trick or treat hours last for two hours, others hold it for 90 minutes.

People who plan to give away candy should turn on their front porch light.

People who don’t participate leave their front porch light off. Trick-or-treaters shouldn’t visit houses where the front light is off.

People driving during trick-or-treat hours should be extra alert. “Children are excited on Halloween and may move in unpredictable ways, so take extra time to look for kids at intersections, on medians and on curbs,” North Franklin Township wrote on its website.

Canonsburg

Canonsburg hours for Trick Or Treating are on October 31 from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM.

Canton Township

Canton Township Trick or Treat will be October 31, 2022 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

Cecil Township

Cecil Township hours on October 31 are from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Chartiers Township

Trick or Treat night will be held in Chartiers Township from 6:00 to 7:30 PM on October 31.

East Washington

East Washington Trick Or Treat will happen on Saturday, October 29, from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM.

McDonald

McDonald will host their Halloween Parade starting at 5:30 PM on October 31, followed by trick or treating from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Morris Township/Prosperity

In Morris Township, Prosperity will have community trick or treating on Sunday, October 30 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM.

North Bethlehem/Scenery Hill

In North Bethlehem, Scenery Hills will have Trick-or-Treat and Trunk-Or-Treat from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, followed by a free showing of Hocus Pocus starting at 7:00 PM in the Town Square.

North Franklin Township

North Franklin Township’s Trick or Treat will be held on October 31 from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM.

North Strabane Township

In North Strabane Township, Trick Or Treat is scheduled on October 31, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Peters Township

Peters Township hours are from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Halloween – October 31, 2022.

South Strabane Township

South Strabane Township will conduct Trick or Treat during the hours of 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM on October 31st.

Washington

Trick Or Treat in the City of Washington will be held on October 31, 2022 from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM.

Tips

Tips for the 2022 Halloween season:

  • Adults should accompany young children.
  • Older children should limit their trick-or-treating to areas they know and collect treats with a friend.
  • Look through the candy they bring home.

Buy or dig out that favorite costume, get swept up in the season and be ready to rake in all that candy.
