Dad can be entertained and educated on Father’s Day – Sunday, June 20, 2021 – as six Washington County, PA museums offer free admission with advance registration. People who register can pick up a passport at the first museum they visit. When they stop into at least three museums and turn in their card, they’ll be registered for a $250 Tanger Outlets gift card.

All locations are listed as being open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM during the event – seven hours to see six museums.

The Bradford House Museum is an 18th Century architectural showpiece. It was a mansion by the standards of the day when it was built.
The LeMoyne House, is a stately stone manor in downtown Washington. It is one of a few former stops on the Underground Railroad to be granted landmark status.
Ride a trolley at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum, which displays more than 50 streetcars. One is a horse-pulled trolley from the late 1800s.
The Duncan and Miller Glass Museum displays an impressive collection of Duncan glassware made by skilled crafters here in Washington for table use across America.
The Whiskey Rebellion Education And Visitor Center teaches people about the Whiskey Rebellion and how it helped to shape American history. It includes an 18th century still like was used to distill grain into whiskey, all the ingredients to make whiskey, an exhibit about the whiskey making process and barrels such as might be filled with whiskey. Sorry, Dad – no actual whiskey is on hand.
At the Meadowcroft Rockshelter And Historic Village, people experience what life was like for people living in the area in prehistoric times, a 16th century Native American village, the 18th century and 19th century. Of the six museums, this one is the farthest away.

A new museum opened locally even as dozens of small museums closed across the country. Museums bring tourists into Washington County, who spend money, which is good for the local economy. The new museum is the Whiskey Rebellion Education And Visitor Center.

Is it possible to visit all six in one day? Perhaps not, but squeezing in as many as possible can lead to “Oooo” and “Ahhhh” moments and souvenirs from their gift shops on Father’s Day.
