Hickory Apple Festival
It’s apple harvest season, with the Hickory Apple Festival scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, October 5 and 6. The festival is packed with apple festival foods, crafters, entertainment and kids activities, making it a wondrous fall weekend.
Pancake breakfast is served starting at 7:00 AM.
Festival booths open at 10:00 AM. Food booths with apple-themed treats — homemade apple crisp, apple butter, apple pies, apple dumplings, candied and caramel apples. Fresh apples and apple cider. Also funnel cakes, deep-fried Oreos and brick-oven-baked bread.
An ATM is available on-site.
Nearly 100 unique craft exhibitors, with more being added until there’s no more space.
Demonstrations include chainsaw sculpting, blacksmithing, rope making and thread spinning.
Such a fun day. Not a lot to do but shop. Food is great and the bands aren’t bad.

Kids activities include a bounce house, pet show, face painting, pie eating contest, apple cider chugging contest and bobbing for apples.
Parking and shuttle, like admission, are free. 4 parking locations — Hickory Transportation, Clearview Federal Credit Union and J. DeBar Plumbing Field, Range Resources Field, and Mt. Pleasant Twp Municipal Building, which is accessible. See the map below.

Benefits the Mount Pleasant Township Volunteer Fire Department. Station 41 provides fire, rescue and EMS services to the community.
The Hickory Apple Festival happens at 106 Main Street, PA Route 50 as it passes through Hickory. The event has been put on annually for four decades.
Free admission. No pets allowed except for service animals. Traffic can get heavy locally during the festival. Organizers ask people to be patient and allow extra time for travel.
